RB26 powered C34 Laurel throwing down on reverse, Nikko Circuit at the RB Meeting x

It was awesome seeing Kawasaki-san and the crew from Doriten out at the RB Meeting held at Nikko Cirucit. Here they are doing a little feature on a C34 Laurel equipped with a RB26 x

C130 ローレル

September 21st, 2012

Weekends are non-stop in Japan. After Hellaflush all the way down in Nishiwaki (Hyogo Prefecture) we thought it would be a good idea to check out a classic car meet the next day all the way back up in Odaiba, Tokyo. To be honest it wasn’t very exciting and a little expensive to get in. Travelling by train out of central Tokyo on a hot day made us wonder around as we didn’t want to head back immediately. We checked out the car park, little did we know it was a thousand times better than the actual show. Here is a C130 Laurel we spotted amongst a bunch of other awe-inspiring cars. It has often been stated, that in Japan the car parks are usually an equal match for the shows when it comes to quality. Plenty more to come! x

Seeing this sight on my last night in Japan made the 2 hour train trip out to the docks with smelly, drunken Japanese people worth it. Takuya and Shingo from LOWBRAIN decided to come hang out with us on my last night too. Even with a blown RB25 Takuya still managed to put on a decent show just before the police turned up. x

The Team FREEE’S☆ C35 Laurel. This car has been around for quite some time but recently debut’d its new look at the most recent Exciting Car Showdown in Nagoya a few months ago. As usual, there is a lot of mixed opinions but personally I absolutely love this car. Witnessing it in real life makes you realise how much hard work has actually gone into it. Oh, and the owner, Yoshimasa-San drifts it too! Under the bonnet is a RB26. I added the middle image in specifically to show this car isn’t just a show car. Team FREEE’S☆ continuing to blow minds! Can’t wait to show you more photos of this car both on and off the track *wink x

RB Meeting

July 20th, 2012

The madness continues from the most recent RB Meeting at Nikko Circuit. R32 Skyline battling it against an old school C34 Laurel powered by a RB26. Nikko is definitely one of my favourite tracks to shoot, especially in the Spring time x

Shakotan C33

A reason I love to keep my 35mm body around my shoulder when traveling. Clicking the shutter release with a film body even once costs you a small sum of money. Digital, not so much, you have the rechargeable batteries, memory card and the camera paid for, all done. Film, you have a huge range of 35mm film to choose from and then to purchase the negative film to inject into the old, rigid camera bodies. I think that whole process slows your mind and let’s you think things two or three times before pressing down on that shutter. Double checking your exposures, ISO etc. Most of all, the framing in my opinion. The most exciting part is not being able to review what you just froze. The thrill of not knowing what you captured, when it was captured or sometimes where is the exciting part. When I received my photos from Chris after processing it was definitely a refreshing sensation.

I’m glad I shot what I did in Japan with my 35mm because there are some interesting cars and angles that I didn’t capture with the digital machine.

These photos had to be posted, this car was an all time favourite at the Wreck `Em Meihan day. The combination of the 15″ XR4’s and Mesh flow so well on these old 4 door chassis. Best of all, the guy behind the wheel was an unreal driver just like the rest of Meihan’s residents x

This has to be one of the best looking C33 Laurel’s I’ve ever seen. If I was to purchase one this is without a doubt the type of styling I would go for… Nothing can beat the 90s, period.

Sedans

This mismatched Nissan C35 Laurel is owned and driven by a young fellow named Tatsuya Fukui-san. As a matter in fact he is the Subsection Chief in the Manufacturing Department for RS*R. It’s totally awesome to see such a late 90’s 4 door sedan getting thrown in sideways at a tiny little circuit like Meihan and I think thats what got my attention.

The Honda Accord is a popular choice among professional race car drivers and enthusiasts alike, and its sleek design and impressive performance make it a top competitor in the racing world. Visit this site to learn if is 2012 Accord good option for a racing car.

The car is driven by a single turbo RB25 which was quite a surprise. It was awesome to meet Fukui-san and I even shot a full feature during the lunch break which you can see on Speedhunters.
