Before I left for Japan I remember finding a small selection of images of one of the absolutely slammed Skyline’s. After Hellaflush Kansai had finished I was shooting along the main road exiting the circuit when I saw two very low R32’s in the distance. Neither of the cars had entered the show so it is still a mystery where they came from, maybe a track day or something? x

ひろゆきさん PS13 でんでん すたいる – ちーむ FREEE’S☆. Hiroyuki Sans PS13 from Team FREEE’S☆. This photo was taken just around the block from the main crossing in Shibuya. Was an awesome sight to see a low, loud and shiny drift car in the dead centre of Tokyo. From here we drove way outside of the city and met up with the rest of the team. I took a bunch of photos this night so I will be slowly dropping them over time! x

Japanese Sunsets

July 26th, 2012

This is the メイシン 高速 Meishin Expressway. It runs for 193.9kms precisely between Osaka and Kobe which is in the Hyogo Prefecture. Whether we were driving to or from an event or just on a road trip in general this is where we found ourselves the majority of days during the sunset. In so many ways it was great. With Japan being a non-stop craze it was one of the very few times you were out of the cities, could actually witness the unbelievable gradients the sun produces at this time of the day and cruising along some of the finest roads in the world. Starting to really miss Japan. Hoping to get back over there for a few weeks just before Christmas. Casey x

Lowdown Chaser

July 24th, 2012

I’ve seen this car a bunch of times on the internet, more specifically Nori Yaro. It was awesome to see this elder fellow sliding around in his olden 4 door Chaser. As a matter in fact he has quite an obsession with old Toyota’s. Will be showing a lot more of this fellows rides in posts to come, for now enjoy this one of him hitting the back section of Nikko! x

326

July 23rd, 2012

At the end of Hellaflush I had a hard decision to make. It was either stay up the top of the circuit where a handful of cars drifted or head down to the exit onto the main road and capture the awesome cars leaving along this picturesque road. I don’t regret my decision watching and capturing the cars leaving the event at all. Check out this shot of the 326 POWER Zenki leaving x

The weather on my previous Japan trip was literally perfect. When I arrived the days had a slight hint of summer and the nights were still chilly. Events, in particular were absolutely perfect lighting conditions especially when the sun dropped beneath the mountains at YZ Circuit x

RB Meeting

July 20th, 2012

The madness continues from the most recent RB Meeting at Nikko Circuit. R32 Skyline battling it against an old school C34 Laurel powered by a RB26. Nikko is definitely one of my favourite tracks to shoot, especially in the Spring time x

Shibuya & Shimokitazawa

July 20th, 2012

During the week I would try and venture out as much as possible. When I wasn’t shooting cars I was capturing other side of Japan. On a few occasions I met up with a friend called Ben who is from England, living in Tokyo. Chilling out around Shibuya during peak hour was definitely something to take in. Soon after, we rode about 15 minutes to a place called Shimokitazawa. This particular area in Tokyo is by far a personal favourite. Boasting its second hand thrifted stores and mouth watering yakitori bars it was the perfect spot to spend a Spring afternoon. After a few drinks and a couple of sake’s we made our way down the one way streets to a Shisha Bar ran by Taiga-San, cool name huh? This place was so relaxing, apart from the fact your head would start spinning after a few minutes. He serves drinks along with a ¥800 shisha with a countless number of different smoke from his tiny water pipes with flavours to choose from. Without a doubt will be back to see Taiga-San when I’m back in Tokyo x
