FD3S RX-7 In Chiba

So there is a little story behind these photographs, of course they’re two very hot FD3S RX-7’s but there is more to it than that. On my first trip to Japan we landed in Narita, Tokyo with a group of 9, myself and a whole bunch of boys from Melbourne. After sorting out 2 little hire cars we finally began our trip from Narita International Airport to Chiba where we were going to be based for the next few nights. On the way we noticed a 3 story Lotus workshop and quickly did a u-turn and pulled into the small car park out front.
As the little parking area was raised up and off the main road we didn’t notice the gorgeous rides sitting up there. Here was this silver FDS3 RX-7 sitting on a full set of Regamasters.
The RX-7 was also sporting some very nice aero accessories.
Over a few car park spaces was this subtle FD3S once again sitting on Regamasters. What a adrenaline rush this was only 3o minutes into the trip. From here on in it got better and better.
I don’t think I would go as far as saying this is my best drift photo ever taken, but it’s definitely an image that has glued to my head since the day it was captured. This photo is of a very famous driver who goes by the name of Takamiya-san which of course drives this aggressive Team Magician JZX 110. I have to say it was pretty incredible watching this guy throw around such a large car at a reasonably tight circuit, the amount of noise this car produces is absolutely magic. Over the years the amount of media content I’ve reviewed on the internet of Team Magician is ridiculous, arriving to MSC on our 3rd day on my first trip in Japan all 4 cars were there sitting in the pits of Mobara Twin Circuit in Chiba, once again it was a complete blow away. Desktop anyone?
Over the past few weeks I’ve been doing nothing but reminiscing about Japan. Browsing through a number of galleries from my first trip just made me realise how much I really miss the country. This particular image was taken at the final round of MSC in Chiba – Mobara Twin which is yet to be posted on here, I can’t get over the paint, it’s exactly how I want my stickers done for the blog! If I’m lucky enough I will be heading back 2 times before the end of the year, however I’m aiming to do one solid trip before NYE. Without a doubt I will be heading back to Osaka and if I’m lucky enough I might be able to meet the one and only Mitsuru Haruguchi-san from ３２６ Power. That itself, will be a dream come true…
Thursday August 25th 2011: 106 days since I’ve been to Japan and I’m having bad withdrawals. I want to go back. Searching through photos from my first trip I couldn’t resist to post this characterised looking Mark II JZX 100. The feeling I got when I looked at this photo was a real shock, it was an instant flashback from my experiences in Japan and it’s just given me more of a reason to return. This was definitely one of the greatest nights of my life. After a full day out at Fuji Raceway we returned back into Tokyo and thought we’d drop by the ever so famous Daikoku PA in Yokohama, little did we know what we were about to see. Shortly, I will be sending just under 400 35mm shots to Chris to get scanned onto disks so I can get them up on the blog and let me tell you I can’t wait to show you them! In the meantime I will be posting random photos from both of my trips to Japan.
As I’m heading away over the weekend here is my final post for the week, we will be back on Sunday afternoon. Due to people frothing so much over the Team Magician R32 on the Facebook Page I thought it would be ideal to share some extra love with a desktop. I feel now days whenever you think of a pink drift car you immediately think of Team Burst or Nakamura so let’s bring back Team Magician.
