大黒ふとPA2010

March 22nd, 2013

This shot was taken back in 2010. One thing I enjoy about not posting a huge number of photos on individual cars is keeping everything fresh and constant. Opening up my folders from 3+ years ago I still find a load of images that I’m yet to see let alone process and put on here. Daikoku is always a refreshing end to the day after spending the day shooting. 1.5 weeks x

August 25th, 2011

Thursday August 25th 2011: 106 days since I’ve been to Japan and I’m having bad withdrawals. I want to go back. Searching through photos from my first trip I couldn’t resist to post this characterised looking Mark II JZX 100. The feeling I got when I looked at this photo was a real shock, it was an instant flashback from my experiences in Japan and it’s just given me more of a reason to return. This was definitely one of the greatest nights of my life. After a full day out at Fuji Raceway we returned back into Tokyo and thought we’d drop by the ever so famous Daikoku PA in Yokohama, little did we know what we were about to see. Shortly, I will be sending just under 400 35mm shots to Chris to get scanned onto disks so I can get them up on the blog and let me tell you I can’t wait to show you them! In the meantime I will be posting random photos from both of my trips to Japan.

This is why my trip was amazing. The night before this video we spotted a S14.5 on the main road leaving Daikoku PA which ended up taking us to a street drift meetup in the heart of Yokohama Bay, docks and all. That same he, Yuki-san gave us a GPS co-ordinate for us to meet him and his crew at a place called Ebina Carpark, this is generally where cars head to if Daikoku PA gets shut down. The following night we rocked up right before 10:00PM and waited around for an hour or 2. Soon enough we were driving with a large pack of cars to a popular mountain about an hour away. Eventually reaching the top of the mountain Yuki generously agreed to taking me for a ride both up and down the touge. Here is a 3 minute sector of the run.
