He goes by the name of Yuu-san and he rocks my world with his chocolate coated Onevia.
Bihoku Highland Circuit – Okayama Japan.
Todd taking on Bihoku in his Type-X RPS13 – such a gorgeous day.
These things are just as interesting as cars sometimes. Fixie’s in Japan are so popular and I’m sure are continuing to grow. As you may know a lot of people in Japan either walk or ride to get around the cities, compared to Australia it’s crazy the amount of people that exercise, even if it’s in their business suit. These two photos were taken on the first night of my last trip, I really love the colour combinations the Japanese come up with, but I have to say this top one is my favourite.
I’m sure I have a lot more photos of these bikes around, I’ll just have to wait to get my 35mm scans done!
I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off Monday morning with a shot of the Nissan Gloria built from Supermade.
After releasing this photo on the blog and then this I was overwhelmed with the response. If there has been a car I’ve posted on here that the majority of people have loved, it would definitely have to be the Onevia from Nagano Kobou. A couple of days prior to this drift day at Meihan we visited Nagano Kobou, as this particular s-chassis wasn’t there at the time it was a huge surprise seeing it rock up early morning at Meihan.
These photos were taken at sunset concluding our second track day whilst the speeches were on. I think what people love most about the car is the new Work CR01’s. Personally, I don’t think there are enough s-chassis sitting on 15″ wheels these days, and when it’s done right it’ll look something like this. I’m so jealous of the Japanese roads and how low they’re able to drive their cars, not legally of course but just have a look how close the CA lip is sitting to the ground!
Thursday August 25th 2011: 106 days since I’ve been to Japan and I’m having bad withdrawals. I want to go back. Searching through photos from my first trip I couldn’t resist to post this characterised looking Mark II JZX 100. The feeling I got when I looked at this photo was a real shock, it was an instant flashback from my experiences in Japan and it’s just given me more of a reason to return. This was definitely one of the greatest nights of my life. After a full day out at Fuji Raceway we returned back into Tokyo and thought we’d drop by the ever so famous Daikoku PA in Yokohama, little did we know what we were about to see. Shortly, I will be sending just under 400 35mm shots to Chris to get scanned onto disks so I can get them up on the blog and let me tell you I can’t wait to show you them! In the meantime I will be posting random photos from both of my trips to Japan.
To those of you who requested more photos of Naoki Nakamura, this is for you. This particular day was special as it was the first time I had ever been to Meihan, and look what I was blessed with! As you may know I travelled north of Japan late last year, through Tokyo and also up in Fukushima for the Autumn Matsuri. The guys up there have that much guts they don’t really care how close they are to one another as their cars are far from straight chassis. This case is different. Two fantastic drivers side by side on one of the tightest tracks in their D1 cars. I remember Shane Bingham was speaking to Nakamura and he mentioned that they try not to think what will happen if they crash, they just want to get as close as they can and if anything happens they’ll worry about it then.
Taking a look over this page I noticed I have posted a lot of action photos, so here is a static. This photo was taken a few days into my second trip with K-Tours at Suzuka Twin Circuit in Suzuka of Todd’s Hot Road RPS13 sitting flush on AVS5’s and XT7’s. One thing I loved about the sunsets was the ability to see the orb itself due to all the pollution, not that that is a good thing but it definitely made for some fantastic photos. One thing you may notice about this photo is the small watermark on the bottom right. From now on I will be applying these to all images photographed by me. As you may know we’ve been asking some questions on our Facebook asking what you’d like us to improve on. Reading over the comments I’ve made two decisions; one being to watermark my images and the other one to add a Desktops section to the site. I appreciate all your comments and feedback. Casey x
I can’t believe I haven’t posted any photos of the ever so famous Supermade D1GP Onevia until now. Witnessing the S15 and the Gloria at Meihan was unreal until this guy rolled in, it really put the icing on the cake. The car is so well presented, yeah there are huge fender gaps and the wheels and the guards haven’t been crafted around the wheels but hey the car performs unbelievably well and looks stunning!
One of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Check out how close these guys get not only to themselves but to the concrete block! Excuse the grain, these were basically pitch black (^_-)
