夜のストリート

February 22nd, 2013

Capturing the soul of the street. A place where nothing else really matters, where all your focus as a driver, spectator or even an outsider like myself trying to be discreet with a camera is so strongly drawn into what is happening at that exact moment. Captures such as this really define why I spend months working and saving to travel. I am still so fortunate that during this day and age it is possible to completely freeze a moment and look back on it years and years to come and never get old. No matter what, a single photograph will always tell a story, no matter how long, short, lame, exciting it may be. Photography is without a doubt one of the most amazing things invented, period. れいめいドリフト

January 8th, 2013

れいめいドリフト。If there was one up to date image that summed up my travels, experiences and my feelings towards Japan, this would top it off. It’s one thing to have such a strong interest in the Japanese culture and the crazy car scene that is surrounded in such a tight, busy city however it is a completely different experience to have it come true after decades of reading, researching and watching media thrown all over the internet, not to forget old VHS’ and DVD’s. Shooting meets, drift, circuit days are still of course an adrenaline pump although one thing I’ve come to realise with my travels to Japan the past 3 years is that the excitement and thrill will always get you when you least expect it. The fact that every time I step off into Japanese soil there are so many things running through my mind every other possible thought that was processing a few minutes ago has completely vanished and that pump doesn’t stop until I board the flight home. That is what gives me the drive, motivation to work because at the end of the day it is all worth it and I have images such as this to showcase to the rest of the world. 12 weeks out~ Casey x

I miss things

September 2nd, 2012

The worst possible thing about travelling to Japan or any overseas destination for that matter is having to depart and head home. It has been 9.4 weeks since I left from my journey that went on for around 2 months. When I look back on that, it is pretty crazy the lengths I went to, to be able to afford and do what I actually wanted to. Travelling to Japan a few times before I can safely say my last trip was the best experience yet. I could almost say I was there for just the right amount of time to start realising how things actually flow. There is so much to learn and see apart from that mind-blowingly awesome car culture that lies beneath. Writing this and searching through my archives on a daily basis to update the blog for all of you gives me more and more motivation to save up and plan another spectacular trip early next year. The constant days of reading through the most recent issue of Doriten and planning and scheduling the weeks. The variety of events, meets and shows was just perfect.

There are still a stupid amount of photos to show you all so sit tight and keep refreshing for daily updates. Also I hope you’re looking forward to the Shirtstuckedin 2013 Automotive Calendar as much as I am. Casey x
