PS13

Lately I have been spending the majority of my days and nights working and cleaning up my car in preparation for Matsuri. A good advantage of daily driving is finding common problems, faults and glitches that tend to give way. I have pretty much been trying to go over the car in order to replace so it becomes more reliable. Here is how it looks at the moment, still pretty much the same. The front got lowered a few weeks ago after the new exhaust was fitted. The front got dropped around 15mm which let me wind in a little more caster due to the LCA’s being at a level height now, no longer facing down. As for the rear, around 5mm or so as I want it to be raking! I have luckily, found another full set of AVS6 in black, which will be painted white to match these ones in 8Js which is an inch wider than my current ones. Super excited to get them and have matching wheels to use on the track.

Pretty excited to drive this car on the track in a few weeks time but there is still some work to do! x

Fabulous Fabrications

August 30th, 2012

Yesterday I finally had my car booked in to get a custom exhaust made up by Nathan from Fabulous Fabrications. You might have seen a lot of posts here and there in regards to Effsqaured or Fabulous Fabrictions purely because I want to help a good friend of mine get a kick-start in the industry. Nathan has been welding for a little over 5 years now but has generally been caught in a job where his skills couldn’t really shine to the surface, however that has changed over the past couple of weeks. He has recently transitioned from his full-time job at a welding company to his own fabrication business.

Yesterday I had booked in for a full exhaust which I was seriously excited about. I offered to hang out with him for the day, talk smack, give a helping hand and help time fly by. These selected images below go from the exhaust being tacked up all the way through to the finish product alongside the standard exhaust. I have to say it was awesome watching Nathan work his magic on his own stomping grounds, so relaxed in every way possible and is super swift at getting his work done.

If you’re located in Brisbane, or even Australia and looking for fabrication work for your car be sure to contact him fabulousfabrications@hotmail.com. I actually feel privileged to have a good friend of mine who can produce such stunning metal work locally. Specialising in extractors, exhausts, custom bash plates and engine piping I’m sure Nathan can fit you up and produce something of such quality for you. Be sure to head over to his site and follow him: EFFSQUARED x

All images shot with iPhone4S as I’m currently without a DSLR.

S13 Update

August 23rd, 2012

If you remember a couple of months ago I posted this article on my new car. Selling my old KE70 was a good, but a bad decision. I had to do it in order to go to Japan, period. When I was in Japan I noticed how much I missed having a chassis that I could pretty much spend money on and play around with. Since returning I found a clean PS13 which has kept me busy these past few months. So here is a little update on it.

I purchased the car dead standard. Since then I have done a few simple, essential changes such as: 4.3 shimmed R200 diff, Silkroad RM/A8 coilovers front and rear, Driftworks caster arms, 16×7 +30 AVS6 front and rear tyre sizes being 205/50/16 up front and 205/55/16 on the rear filling the guards a little more. The engine has been left alone apart from removing all the emissions. Today I got a Exedy Heavy Duty clutch fitted from the guys at Workshop One who did a really clean and swift job not only installing the new clutch but refreshing the gearbox oil and checking over the car for me. I drove the car in at 8:30am and left by 11:00am. If you’re a local around the South East QLD area be sure to hit these guys up for any type of car related work. Next week I will be getting a full exhaust fitted up by a good friend of mine – Nathan Domorow who has just transitioned into full-time fabrication work. You can check his site out here: http://www.effsquared.com/. More updates on that next week! A few other little things such as GT-R swaybars and seats are going to be put in this week sometime but that is about as far as I’ll go, for now anyway. The car, exterior wise is going to remain how it is in this photo, lowered slightly with 16″ wheels. More updates coming soon x

My New Car

July 8th, 2012

My new car. Unfortunately I sold my KE70 just before I took off to Japan a few months ago. Here is my new project, 1994 Nissan PS13 Almighty. SR20DE 5 speed manual. I’ve had the car for just over a week now and finally got out this afternoon to take some photos of it while it is 100% standard, I need to transport it from where the owner had it, but I used an Interstate Car Transport on budget to help me with this. The car will receive basic mods such as coilovers, diff and wheels and a few personal touches here and there. All in good time!

The real question here is “who would be OK with a dump truck?” what is the biggest box truck you can drive without a cdl Well, if one has to give a good answer here is the first one who wants to go into a dump truck at all. Let’s say someone just walks into the dump truck and says “I have to stop this.” Well let’s say two things: no man should have to walk into a dump truck, and 2) if you walk into a dump truck and tell someone you have to stop it or you go to prison, there will be serious consequences.
