D1GP 2021 Round 1 & 2

April 28th, 2021

hello! it has definitely been a minute since i’ve picked up the camera and taken photos – this event last year to be precise. this past weekend was the initial round of D1GP 2021 rounds 1 & 2 held at okubuki ski resort in shiga prefecture, kansai. below are a selected amount of photos captured through my lens over the course of 3 days. D1GP cars and styling of course isn’t too precise within my category of cool looking cars however the more i witness this event and these cars driving i can’t help but to appreciate it more and more. the level of this event, dedication and focus is truly wild in person and super blessed to be apart of it.

the next round is held in tsukuba 2000 course (high speed main) mid to late June so hopefully be able to make it up there and continue shooting as many rounds as possible.

we are working on a small mini-release plus re-stock for SHIRTSTUCKEDIN available this coming Monday 2PM AEST Sunday 9PM PST. following this we are looking to have a much larger re-stock of goods and new items May onwards – thank you each and every single one of you for your support as always x

a collection of photos from mobara twin circuit with nakamura naoki and both of his 2JZ S15’s at the beginning of 2020 directly after tokyo auto salon. both of these events were unfortunately cancelled this year due to the pandemic still hanging around. enjoyy x

Meihan Sports Land is definitely a favourite circuit to shoot when in the Kansai region of Japan. I was lucky enough to sneak one little Soukoukai drift day during the week with Jesse, Joel and Laurence. It was nothing the size of the events I attended last year however the drivers who attended were still tearing up along the wall. This particular driver goes by the name of Tsutomu-San who competes in D1SL and the Kansai All Stars in his Coureges PS13 x

D1GP Supermade Onevia

November 8th, 2011

During my time in Japan I have been lucky enough to be faced one on one with a few D1GP cars, I even attended the final round of D1GP Street Legal around this time last year at the Tsukuba 1000 Circuit, if you look back through the pages on the blog you’ll find heaps of snaps. I have to say it’s so awesome seeing a D1GP car nowadays such as the Supermade Onevia still rocking 15″ wheels. The amount of speed and grip this car has is mind blowing.

The car itself is just so photogenic.

To those of you who requested more photos of Naoki Nakamura, this is for you. This particular day was special as it was the first time I had ever been to Meihan, and look what I was blessed with! As you may know I travelled north of Japan late last year, through Tokyo and also up in Fukushima for the Autumn Matsuri. The guys up there have that much guts they don’t really care how close they are to one another as their cars are far from straight chassis. This case is different. Two fantastic drivers side by side on one of the tightest tracks in their D1 cars. I remember Shane Bingham was speaking to Nakamura and he mentioned that they try not to think what will happen if they crash, they just want to get as close as they can and if anything happens they’ll worry about it then.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted any photos of the ever so famous Supermade D1GP Onevia until now. Witnessing the S15 and the Gloria at Meihan was unreal until this guy rolled in, it really put the icing on the cake. The car is so well presented, yeah there are huge fender gaps and the wheels and the guards haven’t been crafted around the wheels but hey the car performs unbelievably well and looks stunning!
