Here is a photo of Nakamura’s rear end, I really can’t get over how much I love the colour combinations and the collage of stickers. This photo was taken in 35mm film hence the lack of quality from my scanner. In a week or so I will be sending my film away to get scanned properly onto CD’s which I can’t wait for!

Witnessing this car for the first time when I was 18 back in November 2010 at the final round of D1-SL at Tsukuba 1000 was mind blowing. The amount of media that travels around the internet of this one specific fellow and his car is incredible so here I am giving my 2 cents. These photos were taken at the first Meihan day we attended which was held by Kazuya Bai from B-West / Origin. The day consisted of many famous drivers including the D1-SL division so it was awesome to see them go as hard as they possibly could on such a small and tight circuit. Seeing Nakamura blaze around the left-hander onto the straight in the top of 3rd maintaining loss of traction whilst steering into the cement wall and transitioning the complete opposite way causing his moulded wing to sit flush on the wall was absolutely incredible.

Here you can see not only the rear spoiler but the exhaust both have evidence of riding along the wall of Meihan. One thing that gets me about this car is the colour combination, pink and purple with the touch of fluorescent yellow 57d’s. It’s just so Nakamura and has definitely had a big impact on drifters all over the globe. I’d also like to bring up another point, a little off subject of Nakamura but more towards my images in general. As you know I don’t watermark my photos, this doesn’t mean they aren’t copyright, because they are. If you’d like to use any of my images for any use whatsoever please don’t hesitate to drop me an email at: Casey@shirtstuckedin.com and I’m sure we can sort something out.

Once again an amazing Japanese trip has almost come to an end. K-Tours has been amazing, I never thought Osaka would be this different to Tokyo! If you haven’t visited it’s definitely a must. Tonight is our last night, from approximately 25 people it’s down to 2, being myself and Mez. It’s been a super relaxed couple of days in Shinsaibashi soaking up the atmosphere before we head home. As a matter of fact we had a small earthquake here in Kansai earlier this evening. A 2.1 was recorded south of Osaka and a 4 in Wakayama which is about 25-30 minutes from our hotel. Feeling the ground tremor is a strange feeling, I almost felt a little sea sick! Tomorrow night, or tonight I should say we depart Osaka to fly back into the Gold Coast which is a little sad but I have to say I’m looking forward to getting home to my own bed! Hopefully I’ll be back over sooner than I think. From the 15th of this month till the 30th of next (June) JetStar has flights for $199 one way into Osaka so that is a little temping.

I will leave you with this shot of me riding shotgun with the boss of bosses, Naoki Nakamura-san in his D1 Grand Prix S15. What an unbelievable experience, I can’t wait to upload the in car footage battling M-Bos S15.

Today was seriously cool. The amount of video’s and photos I’ve seen from the ever so famous circuit Meihan does not show how the track really is in person. It was completely different to what I had in mind. I can’t exaggerate enough how small and tight the track is, seeing these 500+HP monsters clutching off the main straight in the top of 3rd gear just amazes me. Once again Naoki Nakamura took out the day winning the competition with some unforgettable battles.

I’m currently running on around 5 hours sleep over the past 48 hours. About to hit up some more caffeine and then head to Nagoya with the boys for some street action. After a few hours rest we’ll wake up and be hitting Suzuka Twin Circuit then heading back to Shinsaibashi! Peace out x.

I have to say I’m so relieved to know that Nakamura-san is back in action.
Guess who dropped into Tomei Powered today, Naoki Namakura the man himself, along with Takuya Hamakawa-san of Car Studio (D-Max). So, what are the plans for 2011 you wonder? Nakamura-san has confirmed that he will be competing this year. Not in D1, but in another series. What most people don’t know is that Naoki Nakamura is using Tomei Powered products in the cars he uses for competition and street.

The following Day the D1 Press released this:
Media Release regarding Naoki Nakamura
According to a newspaper report dated January 11th, D1 Grand Prix participant Naoki Nakamura was arrested by the Osaka Prefectural Police Transportation Investigation Division on suspicion of reckless driving traffic violations in the early morning hours of August 1, 2010, after drifting on a road in the mountains of Osaka Prefecture.
We feel this regrettable incident is contrary to the sportsman’s code of conduct for a D1 licence holder. To all of the other earnest, striving competitors, to the fans who are cheering at our events and to everyone else involved, I apologise for this scandal from the bottom of my heart.
After hearing from the person himself of the severity of his arrest, an official staff meeting was held at which it was decided to suspend all his appearances at our events for an indefinite period.
The core focus of the D1 Grand Prix corporation is the sporting development of circuit-based drifting, allowing drivers to show the art and skill of their technique and car control in judged competition.
Drifting events are held in over 35 countries around the world, and D1 is a pioneer and world leader in drift competition. This means we must strive to practice a proper competition and follow policy in recognition of our position.
Following this incident, we will be striving to foster future awareness of this issue among our competitors.
