Joel Hedges x Jesse Streeter

August 8th, 2012

Heading to Japan with a handful of good friends was an awesome experience for 2 or so weeks. However when they left I was a little worried I’d get bored by myself and not know what to do at times. Yes, there were times like that but it was mostly exciting. A few days after my friends had headed back to Australia I decided to stay an extra week in Kansai to meet up with Jesse Streeter and his new room mate all the way from New Zealand – Joel Hedges (C’S GARAGE). After getting a couple of hours rest we woke up to a gorgeous Spring morning en route to Meihan Sports Land for a traditional そうこうかい track day. With Joel living in Japan just over 12 months he was pretty settled in to the lifestyle, to be more specific the car side of things. Up front is his R32 coupe and behind is Jesse’s other wall-rider, a Zenki S14 with a similar engine setup to his PS13. When I think back, these are some of the best days spent in Japan. Waking up before the sun rises, throwing all our gear in to the back of a drift car hoping it doesn’t get smashed. Sitting in a low and ridiculously loud car on the way to Meihan with a few pit stops. I remember this day very clearly. It was a moment where I had been in Japan for a few weeks, everything was starting to become quite regular, life was awesome. Riding in a slammed car making a deafening amount of noise along the expressway next to another gorgeous drift car. It is honestly such a cool feeling – and I wasn’t even driving! I have a bunch more photos from this day including a tonne of action. It wasn’t a huge turnout but there were a few D1SL guys practicing and tearing up. Be sure to stay tuned x

Happy 86 Day

August 6th, 2012

With all my Japanese photos spread across terabytes and terabytes of hard-drives there is one realist that came to mind – Yusuke Nojima-San. I thought I would share this particular shot specifically for 8/6 Day 2012. This day was definitely a highlight on my most recent trip to the motherland. I got to spend the day with part of the RWB Family being Shinji and Nojima. Personally I don’t think we could have picked a better location to contrast the serious looking circuit car. I hope you all enjoy and hope you’ve had a killer day in remembering such a inspiring chassis x

Toyota MZ10 Sharknose Soarer

August 3rd, 2012

It was my second last weekend in Japan that Park and I came across a small group of Kaido Racers at トモベ P.A. We were actually on our way to Tsukuba Circuit for the Idlers meet with Nakai-San. After hanging around the PA for a few hours a few other amazing cars rocked up before they got back onto the expressway. After that we stopped again and caught up with some more cars before they took off to Fukushima for a large meeting. We ended up about 60km’s past Tsukuba turn off but it was all worth it. Here is one shot I got of a MZ10 Sharknose Soarer. These guys were super cool and really laid back. Once again, I took way too many photos of these cars and can’t wait to show you more! Have a killer weekend everyone.

Engines are made at Toyota’s specialized engine factories. The Kamigo Plant and Shimoyama Plant make engine parts and put them together into engines. Engine parts are also made at other Toyota factories and by Toyota’s suppliers, check out this site if you need some parts to repair your car.

BRIDE Setup

The BRIDE setup at MSC Challenge YZ Circuit x

The Team FREEE’S☆ C35 Laurel. This car has been around for quite some time but recently debut’d its new look at the most recent Exciting Car Showdown in Nagoya a few months ago. As usual, there is a lot of mixed opinions but personally I absolutely love this car. Witnessing it in real life makes you realise how much hard work has actually gone into it. Oh, and the owner, Yoshimasa-San drifts it too! Under the bonnet is a RB26. I added the middle image in specifically to show this car isn’t just a show car. Team FREEE’S☆ continuing to blow minds! Can’t wait to show you more photos of this car both on and off the track *wink x
