Day 1 of the QLD Matsuri rocked, such a chilled out atmosphere. Time to upload, recharge and rest in order to do it all again in a few hours time x

FD3S RX-7 In Chiba

October 5th, 2011

So there is a little story behind these photographs, of course they’re two very hot FD3S RX-7’s but there is more to it than that. On my first trip to Japan we landed in Narita, Tokyo with a group of 9, myself and a whole bunch of boys from Melbourne. After sorting out 2 little hire cars we finally began our trip from Narita International Airport to Chiba where we were going to be based for the next few nights. On the way we noticed a 3 story Lotus workshop and quickly did a u-turn and pulled into the small car park out front.

As the little parking area was raised up and off the main road we didn’t notice the gorgeous rides sitting up there. Here was this silver FDS3 RX-7 sitting on a full set of Regamasters.

The RX-7 was also sporting some very nice aero accessories.

Over a few car park spaces was this subtle FD3S once again sitting on Regamasters. What a adrenaline rush this was only 3o minutes into the trip. From here on in it got better and better.

A Quiet Day @ Bihoku Circuit

October 5th, 2011

On the second last day of our trip some of the boys were lucky enough to head down to Okayama where Bihoku Circuit is located on the peak of a gorgeous mountain. Incase you didn’t notice Okayama is located directly in between Osaka and Hiroshima and took about 3-3.5 hours from Osaka. Even though the circuit didn’ have many cars attend it was without a doubt worth the trip down, I’ve always wanted to visit this track and I’m glad I did.

This track really is nothing to what I was expecting, it is completely different in the flesh. First up in the pits we have a very standard looking JZX90 Chaser.

One of my favourite cars from the day was this Toyota Starlet KP-61 sitting on 14″ Longchamp XR4’s and Watanabe’s on the rear. The young fellow rocked up with his partner and his little bub for the day, what a cute car.

I was actually quite surprised of the temperature on this day, it was ridiculously hot. The majority of videos I’ve watched shows that the majority of the circuit is surrounded by several feet of snow but this day was the complete opposite and it wasn’t anywhere near summer time. Here are some of the drivers taking a break form the heat and spectating some of the Australian drivers. I can’t wait to get my film developed from this day and show you a lot more photos, not only from the B Circuit but the A one too! Stay tuned x

This was the second night into our Japan trip with K-Tours. Here we are after a big night of preparing the cars for Suzuka for 2-3 nights. Right after leaving Shane’s we stopped into the local convenience store to grab some treats for the 3 hour driver and then some fuel. Here are some photos I snapped during the trip. Here is John Dollison filling up his PS13.

Erin Sykes from JDM Garage in his Kouki S14. The car has had a huge transformation and can’t wait to shoot it when I head back over to Japan, the new R33 GT-R guards on the rear give it a fat ass appearance.

Here I am hanging out the window leaving the service station after filling up. This photo is the back of Todd’s Type-X and in front half a dozen drift cars on a road trip to Suzuka.

Here we are on the way riding behind Todd’s slammed RPS13. This was before our first stop and before I took over driving from Buckna in his SR20 C33 Laurel.

Finally we have Shane and Matt in the Joy-Pop keeping at the back of the pack to make sure everyone sticks together through the toll points etc. I really do miss this.

As promised, more images from the Supermade cars – Nissan Gloria and of course the S15 Silvia. This photo above is probably one of my favourites from my whole trip to Osaka. I kindly asked the fellow decked out in a Supermade jacket and parachute pants if he’d like to get a photo with the car and he agreed. These type of photos remind me of the Dori Ten styled images with the Japanese pointing to specific parts on their cars pulling stupid faces, however this one was a little more casual.

The day we visited Supermade Takanori-san agreed to park the S15 out the back for me to feature, here is a little teaser on what’s to come very soon. So, I have to ask, what would you prefer? The 4 door Nissan Gloria or the S15 Silvia?
